If you believe you can or you believe you can't you are right.
You must have heard that saying before but this time listen to it. Your
beliefs which are mind habits are ways you think automatically. These
mind habits determine how healthy, wealthy and wise you will become. If
you want to be fit, toned and full of optimism and vitality start with
your self talk.
You need a habit to reinforce your self talk. There are a number of ways you could do this but imagine life if you could do anything and could not fail. What ever you started out to do, you could do. The only requirement is that before you can do anything else you have finish what you start. Begin with creating a vision. How would your health be if you could have it anyway you wanted. Write that down! Put it into a few action sentences, present tense, as if it is already done. Stop reading. Go do it and then finish reading this.
That is your vision, your intention. What you want to bring to pass. You have already done one thing on that journey - gotten a vision. Now, what is it that you have already done that has been satisfying and successful in this area. Write down those successes. Think about the first thing you want to do. Write it down and when you would like to do it. What challenges stand between you and that accomplishment? Do you need to know more? Do you need some special advice? Think about potential struggles. Now write a statement, for your ears only that affirms your intention.
"You are thin, strong, toned and energetic. You work your heart and muscles regularly and they respond. Nature strengthens them and then some so that each day you are stronger, more fit and healthier." This is an example.
Now, for moving meditation as a habit. There are many but an easy one is simply massaging your hands. Chi - or energy - flows down the arm and out the hands and fingers. Massage in that direction with a fine lotion or oil. If you have nothing else use olive oil. As you massage repeat your affirmation while envisioning your intention.
Now you need some physical habits to complement your meditative and self talk habit. Here is a list of dietary and activity habits. As you Massage your hands and repeat your affirmation, you will be impressed to adopt some of these actions to help you.
The dietary list comes from many sources. The list encompasses cognitive behavior therapy, simple systematic things that yield results and things learned in medical seminars.

- eat on a small plate, use smaller utensils and a small cup or glass
- do not eat standing up - always sit and savor your food
- schedule your meal times and eat only one helping at each meal.
- Keep insulin levels low by avoiding sugars and sweetened beverages
- realize rules are made to be broken, but schedule vacations from the rules infrequently
- park farther away from the door to any building
- walk up one and down two flights of steps
- wear a pedometer and measure the amount of steps daily. Compete with yourself or with a friend or co-worker.
- remember raking the lawn, mowing the lawn, shoveling, painting and deep interior cleaning all count
- We were made to walk long and far and to sprint when in danger - do a little of both regularly
- We were also made to carry heavy loads short distances - look at Olympic sprinters vs marathoners - sprinters lift heavy weights in quick lifts and for short periods - begin with a light backpack - 5 lbs to start and then move up.
- Play games, have a squirt gun battle, have a walking contest, get moving by learning to dance and practice at home.
