The Uses Of Custom Footbeds

By Eliza Mendoza

Custom Footbeds are pieces of clothing that are put on the upper part of the sole. This upper part is where the feet rest. The making of these dates back to history when early people placed pieces of rag on the soles. They did these to improve the comfort of the shoes. Modern man has replaced these rags with other smaller and smarter designs of cloths.

Because of their demands, many companies have ventured into their production. The production process is quite easy. The whole exercise is conducted in a step wise manner. The first activity is where the fabrics used to make them are brought together. The materials are purchased from fabric making companies.

The process of making these insole is quite simple . It could be done domestically or even commercially. Companies that have invested in production of these fine goods have outlined a series if steps. First, a material such as cloth is assembled. The material refers to the particular cloth that will be used. Once assembled, an outline is made of a particular shoe that it is meant to serve. The outline will also consider the shoe size.

The cloth is cut by specialized machines. The cutting is done to certain specifications of length, width and thickness considering the human foot. The thickness determines the function meant to be served by the insole. Rigid activities may require thicker insoles as compared to easier activities such as walking.

Thereafter, cloths of exactly the same specifications are stacked together to form a pile. The height of the pile is dependent on the program fed to the machines conducting the operation. Between each cloth that is to be stacked onto the next, some glue is applied. The glue is to ensure that the components of the pile are closely adherent to each other.

Afterwards, the cut pieces are stacked together. The stacking is still done by machines. The piling determines the thicknesses of the insole.Thicker insoles are preferred for vigorous activities such as jumping and running. The piled elements are then stuck by glue. This is to ensure that they form a common unit. Knitting then follows. The knitting is done all round the edges to ensure that the various elements are fixed together. Commercially made insoles are of better quality than domestically made.

They help to protect the sole from heat and cold. They act as insulators especially during the winter seasons. People who are travelling during hot days prefer to have shoes that have them . They help to aid in protecting the feet soles from blisters that come up with continuous walking.

Custom Footbeds are incorporated in most modern shoe wear. It is even more crucial for athletes such as runners and footballers. This is because they involve themselves in rigid exercises. Companies that have engaged in this trade have accumulated immense profits owing to the high demands. These companies most times are still the same ones that produce shoe wears. More manufacturers are making these commodities in the recent world.
