Relieving Pain With Lavender Heated Neck Wrap And Other Tips

By Eloise Hewitt

Pain in necks is not something that cannot be prevented or remedied. But there are even simple ways to make it go away. The first trick is to keep yourself in the proper posture so that there will be an even distribution of weight of your body which is good in preventing the problem.

There are also some things you can make for yourself. An example would be a lavender heated neck wrap. This is great in relieving tension and stress in your muscles.

The next step that you can take is getting yourself the appropriate chair and you should pick one that will be supportive to your posture. This should always be encouraging you to stay in the proper position while you are seated and be discouraging you to hunch over. Hunching over is one of the usual causes of discomfort.

Moreover, there are some people who will have to work for several hours a day sitting at the computer table which would tend to cause stiffness of your body. This would also be applicable for those who will have to travel in planes and buses for a very long period. In order to remedy the situation, you can stretch gently each hour in order to make your muscles loose.

One more tip you could use is that you can actually obtain immediate relief especially from that which is sudden through applying a cold pack. Be sure you will be keeping it placed for ten to fifteen minutes for every two to three hour during the first two days from when it was felt. Have the cold pack wrapped in a cloth to avoid damaging your skin.

There would also be another treatment that should follow this and that would be the heat therapy which you can do after two days. The simplest way to accomplish this is by simply standing under your shower but you may also get some heat pads or microwavable packs. Moreover, there are still those commercial packs which are disposable but are useful for several hours.

It would also be helpful if you would do a gentle massage on the area as it is very effective in reducing discomfort. There are even showers which already have massage setting on them or you may hire a therapist. There are also relief creams which you can rub while having the massage.

If the condition is something that is very severe and the above tips would not help, you may take some over the counter medications such as paracetamol, aspirin or ibuprofen. But ensure that you will take the right dosage as indicated by the label. If this will not work, insist on seeing your doctor.

Furthermore, you must not lie down on a mattress that is very soft but always get that which is firm because this will better support your spine. Also, ascertain that you will be checking the springs from time to time. Also, doing some proper exercises can strengthen the muscles around your neck.
