Women are more sensitive and conscious about their health than men. They sometimes over react on things that can somehow be handled. From monthly period to pregnancy, they tend to have mood swings over and over. Most of the time, they have special tests that are exclusively done to women to check the state of their organs and other matters that they worry about.

They are experts with it and they are the only ones who understand what they feel. There are a lot of Waco ob gyn that are assisting these females. They also have enough training and education about the certain complaints of women that they can only feel. These experts are the ones who reconfirms pregnancy, test them for sexually transmitted disease, do pap smear screening, assist pregnant women and advices them for family planning.

The full title for these experts is called obstetrical gynecologist. The two words actually has two different meanings as well. Gynecologist is the one who has completed specialized training and education of the female reproductive system. Included in their training and education would be treatment and diagnosis of diseases and disorders.

Obstetrician on the other hand is the one who has finished education and training on things related to pregnancy, pueperioum or the time period following childbirth and labor. Although they have two different meanings, you rarely see someone who is an obstetrician alone or just a gynecologist. Most of the time, they really come as one.

They also become someone who other doctors can refer to in cases where they need someone in a certain field of expertise like the ob gynecologists. They are most needed by other physicians especially in properly diagnosing someone with AIDS or STD. They can brain storm with each other so they can come up with an accurate diagnosis and perfect prescription. Some of them choose to work privately by getting clients who will only be under their care exclusively.

After their education and training, they still need to take some certification exams. Once they have successfully passed the examination, that is the only time that they are allowed to do actual practice privately, have their own clinic, or do further practice as resident doctors. Those who had their certification after 1986 are required to take the re certification exams every after 10 years.

One of their main responsibility and on of the most in demand service they have is the prenatal care. They assist and advice pregnant women. They are the ones who check on the current state of both the mother and the baby.

The 7th to the 9th month is the most crucial months of a pregnant woman. This is the time when they need to see their physician more often. Usually, they will be scheduled once a week for check ups.

This kind of profession is not about gender. It does not mean that because they specialize mostly on the condition of women, you also have to be female to qualify. As long as you want it and passes all the necessary requirements, then gender is not a problem.
