The Basics Of Giving A Back Massage Raleigh

By Anita Ortega

The back is known to be the most stressed out part of the body simply because it is the part that holds all of the other body parts like the head, the arms, and the legs together. It is because of this that while doing everyday routines like standing, walking or sitting, the back takes a real beating. It is because of this that one would need a regular back massage Raleigh if he leads an active lifestyle.

Now just like any massage, the one massaging and the one receiving must position themselves before doing anything. So the very first thing to do would be to ask the receiver to lie down on his chest area and to relax all his muscles. From there, the one massaging will kneel beside the one receiving and start with the session.

The very first place to start would be at the lower part of the neck. Now in order to do this, one has to press down on the lower neck area and also the area located right above the buttocks which is the tail of the spine. Now he just has to push it down gently and rub it a little bit just right before the real session would start.

Once that is done, then one may now put some oil on his hands so that he can start with the massage. Now the very first part that he should deal with would be the area right below the rib cage which is somewhere along the gut area. Massage that area very thoroughly in a circular motion with the fingers pointing toward the head.

Once that is already done, then the next part that one should aim for would be the part right above the gut which is the part that contains the rib cage. For this part, he should use his thumbs to rub the area of the back around the spine. Now it is here that he may actually start applying some pressure.

From there, keep on moving up until the upper back region is reached. Now one will be just using his thumbs all the way so that he will be able to pinpoint certain pressure points that would be able to heal the body. Now it is here that he may either apply more pressure or he may lessen the pressure.

After he is done with that, then he should now go to the shoulder area and stay a little long there. He must remember that it is the shoulder area that carries all of the stress. It is for this very reason that he has to know which parts to aim for so that he can loosen up all the tight muscles that are there.

The very last part would be to concentrate on the neck area. Now it is here that one has to be extra sensitive and extra careful because the neck is very fragile and cannot take too much pressure from the hands. Once one is done with the neck, run through the entire back quickly to wrap up the session.
